Log off remote desktop using command line

Commands that will enable administrators to perform some of the RDP tasks remotely.

In a command prompt,

  • Display information about users logged on to the system

quser /server:servername

  • Display information about Terminal sessions

qwinsta /server:servername

  • Logoff a user

logoff /server:servername  <user_sessionid> /v where /v displays information about the actions performed.

  • Reset the session subsystem hardware and software to known initial values

rwinsta /server:servername  <sessionid>
