We all might have used task scheduler in Windows. It is a simple job to create a scheduled task. But I experienced an unexpected error, while scheduling. As you can see in the image below, it doesn’t gave me an idea on what the real issue is. Googling doesn’t displayed helpful results except for an article. This article will give you an idea on how to find the real issue, if ever you find such errors with task scheduler.

Service in Stopping stage while stopping

Hooked up in “Stopping” message while stopping a service? Make use of command line to reset the service.

Taskkill /F /FI “SERVICES eq Service_name” where Service_name is the name of the service you want to stop.

Find the service name by right clicking that particular service and the point to properties. Under general tab you could find the respective service name.

You can also use command prompt to perform the following tasks of services.

Start a service                                    :               net start servicename

Stop a service                                    :               net stop servicename

Pause a service                                 :               net pause servicename

Resume a paused service                 :               net continue servicename
